How TNR Can Help Your Shelter. At Animal Care Expo, Orlando, FLAn estimated 80% of kittens are born to feral and stray cats! Often these kittens and many feral adults wind up in shelters, causing intake rates, euthanasia rates and shelter costs to rise. For shelters with animal control responsibilities, feral cats can also be a large source of complaint calls, further draining man-hours and resources. In this workshop taught by Bryan Kortis, Executive Director of Neighborhood Cats, you'll explore how a communitywide Trap-Neuter-Return program can help resolve these issues by reducing and managing the feral cat population in your area.

Yoga with Dogs!
At Bideawee Learning Center, 410 East 38th Street, Manhattan
Doga (or "dog yoga") is a partner class for you and your dog. Led by Kari Harendorf, who helped pioneer this hybrid practice, our Doga sessions have been featured in articles in TimeOut New York, The New York Post, and The New York Times. Doga is all about bonding with your pet and giving the dog 45 minutes of undivided attention and praise from their favorite person in the world. The dogs do sun salutations and you'll learn specific massage techniques to calm your dog and aid both circulation and digestion processes. And don't worry: You'll also get a workout, while your dog assists you in traditional and modified poses. Pre-requisites: Your dog must get along with other dogs.
This class is held 7:00 - 7:45 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month. Admission is $18 per class (package deals available).
For more information, contact Bideawee at (212) 532-4986 or manhattanlearning@bideawee.org, or visit the Bideawee Web site.
